    Description

    Ocean State Disaster Team helps displaced families and individuals throughout New England affected by fires and other disasters. We provide emergency food supplies, clothing, toiletries, furniture, small household items, pet food, and donation drives to assist those in need. OSDT also supports local city and town Emergency Management Agencies in Rhode Island and Massachusetts with special event assistance.

    Together, we can help families pick up the pieces during some of the toughest moments in their lives. ❤️

    We are currently looking for dedicated Volunteers and Crew Members to join our growing team!

    📌 Volunteer Responsibilities:

    • Supporting the mission and purpose of the organization

    • Enhancing the organization’s public image

    • Assisting with ethical and professional operations

    • Helping evaluate and improve organizational performance

    • Supporting leadership and administrative operations

    📌 Volunteer Requirements:

    • Commitment: 4–5 hours monthly

    • Basic Computer Skills

    • Microsoft Outlook knowledge

    • Communication & People Skills

    • Basic Reception Skills

    📌 Assistant Director Volunteer Duties:

    • Enter volunteer and administrative data into databases

    • Track volunteer applications and hours

    • Assist with fundraiser and event mailings

    • Help onboard and orient new volunteers

    • Create name tags and information cards

    • Operate switchboard when needed

    • Work with the Development Director on ideas and planning

    📌 Qualifications:

    • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

    • Strong communication and organizational skills

    • Basic computer knowledge required

    📌 Assistant Director Volunteer Requirements:

    • Minimum Age: 18+

    • Commitment: Up to 4 hours weekly

    📌 Private Group Opportunities Available:

    • Group sizes from 1–50+ volunteers

    • Events can be held at your location, our location, or virtually

    • Donation requests accepted
