    Description

Are you a master of procedural integrity with a passion for organizational excellence? The Veteran Project Manager Mentor Alliance (VPMMA) is seeking a Board Parliamentarian to serve as the definitive authority on governance and meeting protocol. In this high-impact advisory role, you will serve as the "conscience of the board," ensuring that every decision supporting our veterans is grounded in transparency, ethics, and legal compliance.

As a pro bono leader, you will provide the structural backbone that allows our 100% volunteer organization to operate with the precision of a world-class institution.

    Your Strategic Impact

You will serve as a primary advisor to the Executive Board, dedicating your expertise to these critical areas:

    • Governing Document Stewardship: Serve as the lead interpreter of the VPMMA Bylaws and Board Handbook, ensuring all motions and actions align with our internal rules and mission.
    • Procedural Excellence: Advise the President during meetings to ensure proper parliamentary procedure (Robert's Rules of Order), keeping deliberations focused, productive, and fair.
    • Voting Integrity: Oversee all voting processes—voice, ballot, or electronic—to verify that quorum and majority requirements are legally met.
    • Ethical Safeguarding: Monitor deliberations to ensure the disclosure of Conflicts of Interest and guide members on proper recusal to maintain absolute transparency.
    • Risk Mitigation: Flag potential deviations from the VPMMA mission or legal framework, offering high-level counsel to ensure fiduciary decisions are beyond reproach.

    Who You Are

We are looking for a principled advisor who values order and objectivity:

    • The Expert: Possessing a deep working knowledge of parliamentary procedure, such as Robert's Rules of Order.
    • The Neutral Advocate: Capable of providing unbiased advice and resolving procedural disputes with a focus on organizational health.
    • The Clear Communicator: Able to explain complex governance rules in a clear, concise manner that empowers rather than hinders progress.
    • The Modern Professional: Proficient in virtual meeting platforms and digital collaboration tools.

    The Rewards of Governance Leadership

Joining the VPMMA Executive Board provides a unique platform for professional contribution:

    • Strategic Influence: Play a foundational role in an organization governed by a dual-level structure designed for robust fiduciary oversight.
    • Professional Pedigree: Enhance your resume with high-level experience in nonprofit governance and parliamentary law.
    • Mission Integration: Directly support the legal integrity of programs that equip veterans and military spouses for project management career greatness.
    • Skill Access: Gain access to professional development resources, including Google Certificates on Coursera.

    Position Details

    • Type: Volunteer / 100% Remote.
    • Department: Executive Board.
    • Reporting Structure: Direct report to the President.
    • Legal Compliance: This role is a key component of our commitment to transparency and compliance with Arizona nonprofit law.

Ready to lead the way in organizational integrity? Your expertise ensures that our mission remains strong, ethical, and focused on the veterans we serve.
