    Description

    Goal of the Event: The goal of the Coding Mock Interviews is to support students, ages 21+, in NPower’s App Development-Full Stack Program. This event provides students with the opportunity to develop their interviewing skills, gain valuable experience, and build confidence by practicing coding skills with Tech/IT professionals, business leaders, or recruiters who have 3+ years of professional experience. Volunteers are required to have a basic knowledge of JavaScript and know to solve the "FizzBuzz" Questions.

    Event Description: Join us for the Mock Interview event, where you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping NPower App Development students prepare for their careers in tech. During this event, volunteers will conduct multiple 30-minute simulated interviews with students, offering constructive feedback on their performance. Your insights and guidance will help students refine their interviewing skills, build confidence coding, and better position themselves for success in the IT/Tech industry.

    Volunteer Role & Time Commitment:

    • Volunteers are IT/Tech professionals, business professionals or recruiters with over 3 years of experience in these industries.
    • Volunteer must have basic knowledge of JavaScript and know how to solve the "FizzBuzz" Questions
    • Volunteers will conduct simulated mock interviews and provide constructive feedback on the student’s interview performance. Volunteers will be provided with resource materials prior to the event.
    • Volunteers are asked to review our recorded Volunteer Orientation and Volunteer Resource Guide, which contains numerous suggested questions on various topics, to prepare them for the event.
    • The Mock Interviews are conducted via Zoom video conferencing, hosted by NPower, and utilize Zoom Breakout Rooms.
