Membership & Outreach Coordinator – Friends of Koreshan
Help grow the community that supports Koreshan State Park, Estero Bay Preserve State Park and Mound Key Archaeological Site. The Friends of Koreshan, a passionate Community Support Organization, is seeking a dedicated volunteer to serve as our Membership & Outreach Coordinator.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys connecting with people, telling meaningful stories, and building a strong, engaged community around a shared mission.
About the Role
As the Membership & Outreach Coordinator, you will play a key role in expanding awareness and involvement in both the Friends group and Koreshan State Park. Responsibilities may include:
- Welcoming and connecting with new members
- Recruiting new members and volunteers
- Developing and distributing a regular newsletter
- Promoting events, programs, and opportunities within the park
- Seek and attend community events to represent the Friends of Koreshan
- Sharing who we are, what we do, and how others can get involved
- Lead and plan the annual membership celebration
What We’re Looking For
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable with outreach, networking, and public engagement
- Basic writing skills for newsletters and promotional materials-we currently use Canva
- Organized and able to manage multiple outreach efforts
- Enthusiasm for community building and supporting the park
Why This Role Matters
The Friends of Koreshan plays a vital role in fundraising, programming, and preserving the park’s unique history. This position helps grow the support network that makes all of that possible. So many people love our park and we want to provide our community with more but that involves good volunteer recruitment and retention.
