    Description

    The Sunshine Initiative (TSI) is seeking passionate, mission-driven leaders to join our Board of Directors. As a growing organization preparing to launch transitional housing and family stabilization programs, we are looking for individuals who bring expertise, commitment, and a desire to create lasting community impact.

    Ideal Board Candidates May Bring Experience In:

    • Nonprofit leadership or governance
    • Finance, accounting, or auditing
    • Fundraising, donor engagement, or grant writing
    • Law, compliance, or policy
    • Social services, housing programs, or youth services
    • Marketing, communications, or public relations
    • Community organizing or advocacy
    • Business development or strategic planning

    Passion and integrity matter just as much as professional experience.

    Board Member Responsibilities

    • Provide strategic leadership, oversight, and vision
    • Support fundraising, donor relations, and community partnerships
    • Attend quarterly board meetings (virtual/in-person)
    • Participate in one board committee (Finance, Governance, Programs, or Development)
    • Serve as an ambassador for TSI’s mission
    • Review and approve budgets, policies, and organizational strategies

    Applicants who are selected to move forward will be contacted to provide the following materials:

    • Resume or CV (PDF preferred)
    • Brief Statement of Interest (1–2 paragraphs)
    • Professional or Community References (optional)
    • Any additional documents relevant to board service

    Interview Process

    If selected for the next stage, you will be invited to a virtual interview with members of our Board Development Team. Final candidates will then be asked to complete:

    • A Conflict of Interest Disclosure
    • A Board Commitment Acknowledgment
