Too many people pass from our lives with their stories still inside. Therefore, the Legacy Support (LSV) plays a crucial role in assisting patients to explore, communicate and capture their legacy to leave their loved ones. What gave their life meaning? What advice or memory would they share? Volunteers will help translate those key moments into a project that may be as different as each patient, and could include videos, recordings, pictures, or narratives. Their legacy may be left as a surprise for family members, or the family may be part of the legacy process, helping to gather photos, tell stories of how their loved one impacted them and how their legacy will live on. This is an organic process guided completely by the patient and family.
Working in a healthcare setting, there is strict adherence to confidentialities/HIPAA. Ongoing training is provided.

Essential Functions/Skills Needed to Create a Legacy Project
Expect a rigorous background application process (fingerprints required), physical, TB and drug test, and training required for healthcare settings (Traditions Health incurs costs for physical and testing). But ask yourself, "Would I want anything less for my family member, with a volunteer in my home or with my vulnerable loved ones?"
Did you know that volunteers are required for hospice programs by the centers for Medicare and Medicaid, and that they play a crucial role as part of a hospice care team? Are you ready to become part of our team? Contact us for more information about how you can make a difference to the patients and families we serve. Traditions Health Hospice is waiting to hear from you!
