    Description

Your service made a difference then. It can make a difference now.

Gentiva Hospice is proud to participate in the We Honor Veterans program, recognizing the unique needs and experiences of America's veterans at the end of life.

We are seeking Veteran Volunteers to serve patients throughout Jefferson County, St. Francois County, and Perry County. Through companionship, recognition ceremonies, and shared experiences, veteran volunteers help ensure that fellow veterans feel honored, understood, and appreciated.

There is a special bond between those who have served. Sometimes the simple act of sharing stories, memories, and conversation with another veteran can bring tremendous comfort and connection.

Ways You Can Make a Difference

    • Participate in bedside veteran recognition ceremonies
    • Present pins honoring a patient's military service
    • Deliver certificates recognizing service and sacrifice
    • Provide companionship and conversation to fellow veterans
    • Share experiences and connect through a common military background
    • Represent Gentiva Hospice at community outreach events

    Why Volunteer With Us?

✅ Flexible scheduling based on your availability

✅ Work alongside a supportive and caring team

✅ Continue your legacy of service in your community

✅ Build meaningful connections with fellow veterans

✅ Help ensure veterans receive the recognition they deserve

✅ Make a real impact on patients and families in Jefferson, St. Francois, and Perry Counties

    Volunteer Requirements

    • Must be a United States military veteran
    • Compassionate, dependable, and respectful
    • Complete our volunteer onboarding and training process

Many veterans' receiving hospice care have powerful stories and experiences to share. As a Veteran Volunteer, you can help provide the recognition, gratitude, and camaraderie they deserve.

Sometimes the greatest gift you can give is simply being there for a fellow veteran.

Join our Veteran Volunteer Team and help us honor those who served, one veteran at a time.
