Job Description for STEM Volunteer:
We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic volunteer to assist in our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) program. As a STEM volunteer, you will help inspire and engage young learners in STEM subjects through hands-on activities, STEM competitions, Challenges and experiments. Build experience working with kids, leading groups, coaching and mentoring teams.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and delivery of STEM activities and experiments for students
- Encourage and support students in their learning and exploration of STEM subjects
- Help set up and take down equipment and materials for activities
- Collaborate with other volunteers and staff to ensure the success of the program
- Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all participants
- Attend training and orientation sessions as required
Requirements:
- A passion for STEM subjects and a desire to inspire and engage young learners
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with others
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Experience working with children or youth is preferred, but not required
- A background in STEM is helpful, but not required
