    Description

The Auburn Senior Activity Center enhances the quality of life of senior adults 50+ in the Auburn community through social, recreational, health and wellness, educational, and nutritional programs. Senior Center volunteers assist with providing these services through several positions.

    Primary Duties

We have a variety of volunteer opportunities. The following are on-going positions in-person at the Senior Center:

    • Meals on Wheels Volunteer: There are four Meals on Wheels volunteer positions: Bag preparers, Packers, Delivery, and Ordering. Some positions require being on your feet and driving to deliver the meals. Volunteers who assist with ordering must feel comfortable using the phone and computer. Volunteer commitment is generally twice a month for 2-3 hour shifts.
    • Kitchen Volunteer: Volunteers assist with preparing food (approximately 70-120 meals a day), serving food, dish washing, set-up, and clean-up. All positions require a food handler’s permit. All positions require being on your feet and lifting/bending. Volunteer commitment can be 1-5 days a week for shifts ranging from 1-4 hours.
    • Office Volunteer: This position requires answering senior center phones, using a computer, and providing customer service to participants. Volunteer commitment is generally once a week for a 4-5 hour shift.

If you have questions or want more details about a particular volunteer position, please call (253) 931-3016.
