    Description

    Who We Are

Human Rights Research Center (HRRC) is an established 501(c)(3) nonprofit that brings a multidisciplinary approach to human rights and seeks to bridge the gap between academic research and the wider public. We educate through facts, advocate using our research findings, and take action to implement change.

    Who You Are

You are creative, disciplined, and motivated by truth, accountability, and public impact. You care deeply about human rights and understand the power of video to inform, engage, and mobilize people responsibly. You are comfortable working independently on creative production, but you value close collaboration with researchers, news writers, and social media staff. You enjoy translating complex, research-driven material into compelling visual narratives that people can understand and act on.

You may come from video production, documentary storytelling, digital media, journalism, marketing, or creative art. You believe good information deserves good storytelling.

    What You’ll Do

    • Collaborate with researchers and news writers to develop video concepts that accurately reflect investigations, reports, and advocacy campaigns.
    • Help shape story ideas, narratives, and messaging for short-form and long-form video content.
    • Develop storyboards, scripts, and creative briefs for video projects.
    • Source video footage, imagery, graphics, and other visual assets from ethical and appropriate sources.
    • Create original visual and graphical assets to support video storytelling.
    • Edit video content into polished, publish-ready pieces for social media, webcasts, and digital platforms.
    • Support video production for live and recorded broadcasts, campaigns, and community actions.

    Qualifications

    • Experience creating and editing video content for social, digital, or marketing channels
    • Familiarity with video editing tools and basic motion or graphic design workflows
    • Strong storytelling instincts and ability to translate complex information into clear narratives
    • Comfort sourcing footage, graphics, and assets responsibly
    • Ability to collaborate across research, action, and communications teams
    • Comfortable working remotely with structured workflows and deadlines
    • Experience with advocacy, journalism, nonprofit, or mission-driven content is a plus

    Compensation and Commitment
