    Description

💛 Be the Bright Spot in Someone's Life 💛 (Dallas, Collin, Tarrant, Grayson, Fannin, & Cooke County)

There are moments at the end of life that no one should walk through alone.

At Star City Hospice, we believe hospice is not just about how someone dies. It is about how they are cared for, honored, supported, and loved in the moments that matter most.

We are currently looking for compassionate hospice volunteers who want to make a real difference in the lives of patients and families throughout our community. Star City Hospice is resetting the standard in care, and we would love to talk to you about joining our team!

You do not have to be clinical to change someone’s life. Sometimes the greatest gift is simply your presence.

    Our volunteers help by:

    • Providing companionship and emotional support
    • Reading, talking, listening, playing music or simply sitting with patients
    • Offering caregiver relief visits
    • Assisting with administrative or office support
    • Supporting veteran recognition and special programs
    • Participating in bereavement and family support activities
    • veteran to veteran support

Hospice volunteers are an important part of compassionate end-of-life care because they bring something medicine alone cannot provide — human connection, dignity, comfort, and presence.

    Hospice volunteer guidelines include:

    • Volunteers complete orientation and training
    • Background check
    • Driver's license/ Proof of insurance
    • Volunteer services support patients, families, or organizational operations
    • Volunteers may provide companionship, respite support, administrative assistance, bereavement support, and community outreach
    • All volunteers follow HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements

    This is not just volunteering.

This is sitting beside someone during one of the most important chapters of their life.

If you have a heart for people and want to serve with purpose, we would love to connect with you.

" There is a Patient at the end of every decision we make and do not make."
