Description
We are looking for a Volunteer Legal Advisor to support our teen mental health initiative. This role involves providing general legal insight and guidance to help the organization operate responsibly while enhancing programs focused on improving mental health awareness and resources for teenagers.
The advisor will assist in identifying potential legal considerations related to youth-focused programs, partnerships, policies, and safeguarding practices. Please note that this position is for advisory purposes only; the advisor will not be held accountable for any decisions made by the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general legal guidance and insights related to nonprofit activities focused on youths.
- Review or advise on policies, disclaimers, and safeguarding practices.
- Help identify potential legal or compliance considerations for programs and partnerships.
- Offer occasional advice on risk management and ethical considerations.
Requirements
- A Law degree or currently enrolled in a law program
- Completion of a law degree is an asset, but it is not required.
- A strong Interest in youth well-being, mental health advocacy, or nonprofit work
- Ability to provide thoughtful and ethical legal perspectives
