    Description

    Outdoor Leaders – Community Nature Station (CNS)

    Community Nature Station (CNS) is seeking certified Outdoor Leaders to guide and inspire community-based nature experiences. If you’ve completed an outdoor leadership program or hold certification from organizations like The Mountaineers, we’d love to have you on the team.

    Role Overview:

    Lead safe, inclusive, and engaging outdoor activities such as hiking, nature walks, cultural outings, and adventure experiences that connect people with the natural world.

    Responsibilities:

    • Plan and lead outdoor events aligned with CNS values and safety standards
    • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive group environment
    • Ensure participant safety, preparedness, and risk management
    • Collaborate with CNS on event promotion and community engagement

    Qualifications:

    • Graduate of an outdoor leadership program or certified by a recognized outdoor organization (e.g., The Mountaineers or similar)
    • Strong leadership, communication, and group facilitation skills
    • Knowledge of outdoor safety, navigation, and environmental stewardship
    • First Aid/CPR certification (preferred)

    Commitment:

    Flexible, event-based involvement with opportunities to lead regularly.

    Help build a community that explores, protects, and celebrates nature—one adventure at a time.

    This is a volunteer or stipend-based opportunity depending on event type.
