External Coordinator
Details
Description
Help us build the partnerships that multiply our impact.
At KBI, our reach extends far beyond our own walls—through the organizations, institutions, and communities we collaborate with. We're looking for a Volunteer External Coordinator who understands that a well-nurtured relationship can open doors to communities we couldn't reach alone.
This is a role for someone who communicates with intention and follows through with consistency. Your outreach will help ensure KBI is connected, credible, and collaborative in every space it enters.
What you will do
You will be KBI's bridge to the outside world. This means identifying and reaching out to potential partner organizations, and collaborators, maintaining relationships with existing external partners through regular communication, coordinating joint initiatives and representing KBI in external events, tracking collaboration pipelines and follow-ups so no opportunity slips away.
You might be a great fit if
You are a confident communicator who writes clearly and speaks professionally. You're comfortable initiating conversations with strangers and following up without being pushy. You understand how to represent an organization's mission authentically and persuasively. You want your relationship-building skills to directly expand educational access for the communities KBI serves.
What you will get out of this
This is a chance to build real experience in nonprofit partnerships, stakeholder engagement, and institutional outreach. You'll develop skills in professional communication, strategic relationship management, and proposal writing. You'll also gain an inside view of how mission-driven organizations grow through collaboration.
Why this role matters
KBI cannot scale on its own. Every partnership we forge unlocks new resources, new audiences, and new possibilities for our students and programs. Without a dedicated coordinator keeping those relationships warm and growing, opportunities are left on the table. Your work is what makes KBI bigger than itself.
