Description
Family Housing Network serves families experiencing homelessness. We offer a range of programs to serve families on the continuum from homelessness to housed; each program serves every family's complex and unique needs. Our programs range from light touch services to long-term support. The programs we offer are Resource Navigation & Case Management, Day Center, Rapid Rehousing, Overnight Shelter (Faith Family Hospitality), and Bridge Housing (Sherwood House).
Family Day Shelter Volunteer
Available Times:
Weekdays (daytime), Weekends (daytime)
Time Commitment:
A few hours per month
Commitment Details:
Volunteers can choose between 1–2-hour commitment during workdays and 4 hour commitment on Saturdays

Description
Our day shelter (Day Center) provides a safe, welcoming place for families with children who are experiencing homelessness and working towards permanent housing. We are looking for compassionate and reliable volunteers to help support the daily operations of our Day Center and create a positive environment for the families we serve.
Day Center Volunteers assist staff with a variety of tasks that help the shelter run smoothly and ensure families feel welcomed and supported.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Answer and direct phone calls/ Take messages
- Check families in and out of the Day Shelter
- Help maintain a welcoming front desk environment
- Restock supplies and assist with light organizational tasks
- Provide general support to staff as needed

- Friendly, dependable volunteers who enjoy helping others
- Comfort interacting with children and families during a challenging time in their lives
- Ability to maintain a respectful and welcoming environment
- Ability to pass a background check
- Training and orientation will be provided.
