    Description

    The hospital archivist/historian serves in a voluntary position and is responsible for collecting and maintaining the UH historical artifacts collection, and for providing information about the history of UH to both internal and external constituencies.

    Considerable ability to organize and plan activities to showcase the collection of historical items in addition to collecting and categorizing UH artifacts. Must be able to compile documents and objects to create a realistic and accurate picture of the past. Ability to work independently and is a self-starter. Have an "eye" for collecting things and knowledge of what "keepsakes" are. Have an active interest in the history of UH and a desire to educate and inform constituencies of its importance to the Kansas City community. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including a high degree of professionalism and personal presence. Outgoing person with a high service orientation. Demonstrate excellent listening and communication skills as much of the role involves interaction with staff and the community.

    All applicants are required to complete an interview, background check, health screening, compliance training and orientation as part of onboarding.
