    Description

The USIOT Social Media Manager will work as part of USIOT’s social media and communications team to grow awareness of the organization, engage students, and increase participation in USIOT competitions and programs.

Responsibilities include creating and scheduling content for USIOT’s social media platforms; developing posts, graphics, short-form videos, announcements, and promotional campaigns; publicizing registration deadlines, competition rounds, National Finals, Team USA, and the International Informatics Olympiad in Teams (IIOT) World Finals; identifying new strategies to reach students interested in computer science and competitive programming; monitoring engagement and platform analytics; and collaborating with other team members on larger outreach campaigns.

Applicants should have strong written communication skills, creativity, reliability, and an interest in social media, marketing, computer science, or nonprofit outreach. Experience with platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, Discord, Canva, or similar tools is helpful but not required. Applicants should be comfortable working collaboratively, meeting deadlines, and independently developing ideas for content and audience growth.

This is a remote volunteer position with flexible hours. Social Media Managers will work alongside other members of the team and USIOT leadership to strengthen USIOT’s national presence and help connect more students with opportunities in team-based competitive informatics.
