    Description

Families4Families is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that empowers student leaders to address food insecurity and enact positive change in their communities. Through F4F’s model, students organize grocery and essential item collection events and deliver them to local nonprofits. As a result, students connect with the communities they serve, create lasting change, and learn the power of leadership and service.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-starting individual to serve as the Families4Families Summer Programming Intern. In this role, the intern will have the opportunity to create meaningful opportunities for others to make a positive impact in their communities, engage with nonprofit organizations across the nation, and work directly with the F4F team. This unpaid internship is based in Bethesda, MD and requires working in person. The start and end dates for this internship are flexible.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assist with planning, coordination and execution of F4F’s Inaugural Student Leadership Conference.
    • Support F4F Grocery Collection Events taking place throughout the summer by helping with preparation, outreach, and day-of logistics. Attend collections in the DMV, some of which will take place over the weekend.
    • Work closely with the Program Coordinator to communicate with students who will be leading F4F Clubs during the 2026-2027 school year.
    • Assist with outreach to F4F’s student and parent network to help identify potential new student leaders.
    • Take the lead on piloting 3-5 summer events and fundraisers to engage students during the summer. Research ways these can be implemented on college campuses.
    • Collaborate with the F4F Team to plan a social event for F4F students in Fall 2026.
    • Research and implement creative ways to sell F4F Merchandise. Assist in creating new merchandise as demand arises.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Enrolled undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university.
    • Comfortable in group settings.
    • Strong writing skills, including precise grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
    • Outgoing, proactive, and adaptable self starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Available to work in person Monday through Thursday, 10 AM to 4 PM.
    • Available to attend the student leadership conference in Maryland from June 22-24 (overnight).
