Protect your local stretch of Great Lakes shoreline – lead a cleanup! (Dunkirk)
Details
Description
The Alliance for the Great Lakes is a nonpartisan nonprofit working across the Great Lakes region to protect our most precious resource: the fresh, clean, and natural waters of all 5 Great Lakes. We are active in advocacy, volunteering, education, and research.
Each year, through the Adopt-a-Beach program, thousands of volunteers work to keep the Great Lakes shorelines healthy by removing litter from our beaches and collecting important data.
Join the Adopt-a-Beach movement today! You can take part in two ways:
To lead your own cleanup, you first have to create an Adopt-a-Beach account. You then can select to “Host a Cleanup” at the beach and on the date of your choice. You can view our Team Leader How-to Guide for more detailed guidance on leading your cleanup and for a list of items you will need to bring to your cleanup. We have many other resources to support you as a Team Leader on our Team Leader resources page. We also have a recording of the Team Leader training that you can view at your convenience.
You can also visit our Adopt-a-Beach website to view a list of cleanups that you can register to attend. You can search available cleanups by geography or date.
If you have any questions or need any assistance with registering or creating a cleanup, please reach out to us at adoptabeach@greatlakes.org.
We hope to see you by the lake this season!
