    Job Overview

    We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Volunteers to join our team in providing essential support to individuals in need. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for those we serve, including seniors and individuals with developmental disabilities. Volunteers will engage in various activities that promote well-being, assist with daily living tasks, and foster a supportive community environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Providing companionship to patients/families;
    • Providing emotional support to patients/families;
    • Performing household chores for patients/families;
    • Attending IDG meetings;
    • Reporting on patient/family status; and
    • Assisting office staff with office duties.
    • If providing patient services, submits Volunteer Visit Notes, which follow the Volunteer Plan of
    • Care, per agency policy.
    • Submit time sheets per company policy.
    • Maintain confidentiality per agency policy.
    • Maintain open communication and reports regularly to the Volunteer Coordinator.
    • Participates in QAPI activities.
    • Participates in IDG meetings, as able.
    • Must complete a minimum of 6 hours of initial training in the first 60 days of employment as
    • required by the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementia’s Services Act.

    Requirements

    • Previous experience in caregiving or working with people with disabilities is preferred.
    • Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is beneficial.
    • Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospice care settings is a plus.
    • Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
    • Understanding and supportive of hospice philosophy.
    • Compassionate person who is accepting and respectful of people’s differences.
    • Must be a licensed driver with an insured automobile in good working order, if making patient visits.
    • A compassionate attitude towards individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or memory care needs. Join us in making a difference through volunteer work that enriches lives while providing you with valuable experience in the caregiving field!
