    Position Overview

    The Frontend Developer is responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing user-facing interfaces across the organization’s web platforms and applications.

    This role ensures that designs are translated into responsive, accessible, and high-performing user experiences.

    Operating at the intersection of development, design implementation, and user experience, this role is critical to delivering functional and engaging digital products.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Frontend Development
      • Develop and maintain user interfaces using:
      • HTML
      • CSS
      • JavaScript
      • Build responsive and interactive web components
    1. UI/UX Implementation
      • Translate design mockups into functional interfaces
      • Ensure accuracy and consistency with design specifications
      • Improve usability and user experience
    1. Responsive Design & Compatibility
      • Ensure interfaces work across:
      • Devices (desktop, tablet, mobile)
      • Browsers
      • Maintain consistent user experience
    1. Performance Optimization
      • Optimize frontend performance
      • Improve load times and responsiveness
      • Reduce rendering and resource inefficiencies
    1. Accessibility Implementation
      • Implement accessibility best practices
      • Support compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG)
      • Ensure inclusive user experiences
    1. Code Quality & Standards
      • Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code
      • Follow development standards and best practices
      • Support code reviews and improvements
    1. Cross-Functional Collaboration
      • Work with:
      • Designers (UI/UX alignment)
      • Backend developers (integration)
      • Product or program teams
      • Ensure seamless integration across systems
    1. Debugging & Issue Resolution
      • Identify and fix frontend issues
      • Troubleshoot bugs and inconsistencies
      • Maintain stable and functional interfaces
    1. Component & Asset Management
      • Build reusable UI components
      • Maintain organized frontend assets
      • Support scalable development
    1. Documentation
      • Document code, components, and processes
      • Ensure clarity for future development
    1. Continuous Improvement
      • Improve frontend architecture and workflows
      • Stay current with modern frameworks and best practices
      • Enhance overall user experience

    Volunteer Commitment Expectations

      • Estimated Commitment: 10-15 hours per week
      • Flexible schedule
      • Participation in development meetings required
      • Fully remote

    Minimum Qualifications

      • 2–4 years of experience in:
      • Frontend development
      • Web development
      • Strong skills in:
      • HTML, CSS, JavaScript
      • Experience building responsive interfaces

    Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience with:
      • Frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Vue)
      • Version control (e.g., Git)
      • Familiarity with:
      • Accessibility standards
      • Performance optimization techniques
      • Experience in remote teams
