    Description

Volunteer Executive Administrative Assistant to the President

Remote | Volunteer Position | Flexible Schedule

New England Primate Conservancy (NEPC) is seeking an experienced Executive Administrative Assistant to the President. As NEPC has grown, so has the need to delegate administrative and project-coordination responsibilities.

This role will be developed collaboratively with the President. While a number of responsibilities can be transferred immediately, we expect the role to evolve as the Executive Administrative Assistant becomes familiar with NEPC's programs, people, and workflows.

    Responsibilities

    • Track project deadlines, deliverables, and outstanding items; follow up with team members as needed.
    • Coordinate administrative aspects of volunteer recruitment, onboarding, assignments, and documentation.
    • Assist with administrative coordination of NEPC programs and projects, including maintaining project status information, records, and tracking systems.
    • Assist with selected WordPress and other digital administrative processes as appropriate.
    • Identify additional administrative responsibilities that can appropriately be taken off the President's plate.

    Qualifications

    • Previous experience providing administrative support to an executive, senior manager, or organizational leader is required.
    • Excellent organizational skills and exceptional follow-through.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and outstanding items without requiring reminders.
    • Strong judgment about when to act independently and when executive input or approval is needed.
    • Clear written communication skills.
    • Strong digital proficiency and comfort working in a fully remote environment.
    • Self-directed and proactive while respecting organizational roles and boundaries.
    • Comfortable helping to develop an evolving position as responsibilities are gradually delegated.
    • Must be located in the United States.

    Time Commitment

The workload will vary with NEPC's active projects. Some weeks may require several hours, while others may require little activity. Because the role includes tracking deadlines and following up on outstanding items, regular availability and responsiveness are more important than working a fixed weekly schedule.
