The Hartford Chapter MATHCOUNTS competition is returning for 2026 and we are looking for volunteers to help with assorted duties for the event. We would like people to assist in setup and registration, proctoring written rounds, scoring for the written rounds, and judging for the head-to-head oral competition. Our competition is scheduled for Sunday, February 1, 2026 at the University of Hartford, with a snow date and location to be determined.
MATHCOUNTS is a nationwide competition series for middle school students which tests their skills in written and oral exercises, encouraging them to engage in problem solving and critical thinking skills. This round consists of schools in the greater Hartford area, and the highest ranking individuals and school teams will advance to the Connecticut state round at Yale University on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
Volunteers of high school age are welcome, but are limited to proctoring duties and will paired with an adult to protect the integrity of the written rounds of the competition.
