Do you speak both English and Spanish? Are you looking for a meaningful way to support your community?
Our AmeriCorps Seniors program is seeking a Spanish Translator Volunteer to help bridge communication between our bilingual volunteers, staff, and community partners. Your support will help ensure that Spanish-speaking participants can fully participate in orientations, trainings, and community events.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
✅ Translate written materials, including forms, flyers, orientation packets, trainings and announcements
✅ Provide interpretation during volunteer orientations, trainings, and occasional meetings
✅ Work with staff to ensure translations are accurate, clear, and culturally appropriate
✅ Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when assisting participants
Qualifications:
• Fluent in both Spanish and English (speaking, reading, and writing)
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and culturally sensitive
• Translation or interpretation experience is a plus, but not required
• Passion for serving the community and supporting older adults
Flexible Commitment
This is a flexible volunteer opportunity requiring assistance only a few times each month. We'll work with your schedule, making it a great opportunity for students, retirees, professionals, or anyone who wants to give back without a large time commitment.
Your language skills can make a real difference by helping older adults and volunteers access important information and feel welcomed in our programs.
