Income Tax Return Preparer

South Shore Community Action Council is seeking Volunteers to assist in the preparation of tax returns for the VITA Tax Program.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provides free tax help to individuals who qualify. This program is especially beneficial for low-to-moderate income earners, the elderly, and those with disabilities. VITA offers assistance with basic tax return preparation and e-filing, ensuring that eligible taxpayers can access necessary services without incurring costs.

Our experienced staff and long-time volunteers provide training, guidance and support to new volunteers to develop the skills and knowledge in the preparation of tax returns for the community we serve.

Volunteers will begin in January of 2027 and the program continues until April 15, 2027. The commitment can be as little as one day per week and any number of hours that works for your schedule.
