Registration Volunteer at WildEarth Guardians Gala
Details
Description
Join us and volunteer at the registration table during WildEarth Guardians' Gala on Friday, September 18! You'll be an essential part of this annual event supporting Guardians' work protecting the wildlife, wild rivers, and public lands of the American West. You'll help guests check in, hand out packets, and assist with donors making gifts at the end of the night.
What to Expect
The 23rd Annual Guardians Gala will be an evening of great food, live music, inspiring stories, and celebration with our passionate community. We'll take a break after all guests are checked in, and volunteers are welcome to join in the buffet dinner, featuring classic New Mexican cuisine with vegetarian and vegan options.
During this break, you can listen to our keynote speaker, Dr. Emily Fairfax, a beaver champion and ecologist who served as the scientific advisor on Hoppers, the recent Pixar movie featuring beavers. Dr. Fairfax’s work focuses on how ecosystems respond to climate change, wildfire, and drought. Her groundbreaking research reveals how nature’s own engineers can help restore rivers, support wildlife, and build resilience in a changing West. Her work offers an inspiring example of what can happen when we make room for wildlife to thrive.
We’re asking volunteers to arrive at La Fonda at 4:45 pm for a short orientation before the event. Things should be wrapped up around 10:30 that evening. The venue is accessible and has a lift onto the mezzanine floor but we are not able to reserve parking.
