We are looking for volunteers willing to become companions to our patients or caregivers. Their main tasks are to reduce the loneliness and isolation often felt by hospice patients. Companions bring a special loving touch to Hospice as they are crucial in providing a listening ear, a helping hand, and a friendly presence. They allow the patients time to tell their story or complete tasks that they otherwise could not do themselves, such as reading, writing letters, light housekeeping, games, pet care, and so much more.
Please fill out the application as best you can. Experience is not required. Drug-testing, background checks, TB testing, and training are all provided. Any questions can be emailed to our Volunteer Coordinator, Margaret, at margaret.smay@ohiovalleyhospice.com. We look forward to working with you.
