    Description

Front Desk and office work volunteer

The Front Desk Volunteer joins SympathyCare Hospice, an incredible team of dedicated professionals who are committed to serving our patients and their families in agreement with our core values of compassion, respect, integrity, ownership, safety and quality. Our mission is to Honor the life and ease the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual distress of our patients, living with any end-stage illness, and those who care for them. Our vision is to promote comfort, dignity and independence to the greatest extent possible, and provide care and education to our patients and their families in finding personal fulfillment as they deal with end-of-life challenges.

The Front Desk Volunteer works as a team with other office personnel and volunteers to welcome visitors and support the daily operations and programs at SympathyCare Hospice. Depending on the number of volunteers you may work alongside one-another or may be stationed in another area of the office to support a specific program or staff member.

With direct support from the Volunteer Coordinator, duties include maintaining a positive, safe, respectful, and welcoming space, welcoming visitors to the office and helping them get connected to the staff they are looking for; keeping an organized reception desk; answering the phone, receiving deliveries; assisting departments such as clinical, community outreach, and volunteer. Other tasks are possible depending on interest, and experience.

We aim to help volunteers develop a meaningful relationship with SympathyCare Hospice, and are dedicated to training and supporting our volunteers as part of our team. Please see our other listings for additional opportunities such as Hospice Music Enrichment Volunteer and Hospice Angels Needed.
