Board Member – Seeking Expertise in Legal, Finance, or Fundraising

    About the Opportunity

Pacific Atrocities Education (PAE) is seeking visionary, strategic leaders to join our Board of Directors. As we enter a pivotal phase of global growth, we are looking for individuals who can provide the professional stewardship, financial oversight, and strategic connections necessary to scale our human rights and educational programs worldwide.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Strategic Governance: Collaborate with the Executive Director and fellow board members to oversee PAE’s multi-year strategic plan and ensure alignment with our mission.
    • Fiduciary Oversight: Review and approve annual budgets, audit reports, and financial statements to ensure the organization’s long-term sustainability.
    • Advocacy & Ambassadorship: Represent PAE in professional and public circles to increase organizational visibility and influence.
    • Fundraising Support: Assist in identifying and securing sustainable revenue streams, including grants, corporate partnerships, and individual philanthropy.
    • Meeting Participation: Attend 4 virtual board meetings per year and participate in at least one subcommittee (e.g., Finance, Legal, or Fundraising).

    Qualifications & Expertise

We are specifically seeking candidates who possess deep expertise in one or more of the following areas:

    • Nonprofit Governance: Experience with board leadership, bylaws, and organizational scaling.
    • Legal: Background in nonprofit compliance, international law, or human rights advocacy.
    • Finance & Audit: CPAs or financial professionals capable of overseeing fiscal transparency and growth.
    • Fundraising & Development: A proven track record in strategic partnerships or high-level donor relations.
    • Education & Policy: Experience in global curriculum development, academic research, or human rights policy.

    Commitment & Term

    • Term Length: Board members serve an initial 1-year term, with the possibility of renewal.
    • Time Commitment: Approximately 4 hours per month, including meetings and preparatory review.
    • Location: This is a remote-friendly role; we welcome candidates from across the globe.
