Summer STREAM and Girls Love to Code program

Summer STREAM & Girls Love to Code Volunteers Needed

Children Across America | Milford, MA

    Dates: July 6 – August 14

    Time: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

    Location: Milford, Massachusetts

Children Across America is looking for caring, dependable volunteers to support our Summer STREAM Program and Girls Love to Code initiative this summer.

Our summer programs provide children with access to hands-on learning, coding, robotics, creative projects, reading, science, engineering, art, math, mentorship, and confidence-building experiences. Volunteers help create a safe, fun, and encouraging environment where children can explore new ideas, build friendships, and discover what they are capable of achieving.

    About the Opportunity

Volunteers will assist program staff with daily activities, classroom support, hands-on projects, student engagement, setup and cleanup, lunch support, and general supervision. No teaching experience is required — just patience, positivity, reliability, and a desire to help children learn and grow.

    Programs You’ll Support

    Summer STREAM Program

A hands-on summer learning program focused on science, technology, reading, engineering, art, and math for children ages 4–11.

    Girls Love to Code

A confidence-building coding and STEM program that introduces girls to beginner coding concepts, robotics, problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership.

    Volunteer Responsibilities May Include

    • Assisting children with hands-on projects and activities
    • Supporting coding, robotics, art, reading, and science lessons
    • Helping with classroom organization and materials
    • Encouraging teamwork, creativity, and confidence
    • Supporting lunch and snack routines
    • Helping maintain a safe and welcoming environment
    • Assisting with setup, cleanup, and daily program flow

    Ideal Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers who enjoy working with children and are dependable, patient, encouraging, and enthusiastic. This is a great opportunity for high school students, college students, retirees, educators, parents, corporate volunteers, and anyone interested in youth development, STEM education, coding, or nonprofit service.

    Requirements

Volunteers must be reliable and willing to follow Children Across America’s safety policies and program guidelines. Background checks may be required for adult volunteers.

    Time Commitment

Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday, July 6 through August 14, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Volunteers may commit to the full program, specific weeks, or select days based on availability.

    Why Volunteer?

Your time can help provide children with equitable access to learning experiences they may not otherwise receive. For many children, these programs are more than summer activities — they are moments of discovery, confidence, and possibility.

Join Children Across America this summer and help inspire the next generation of thinkers, creators, coders, and leaders.
