Volunteer Opportunity: Creative Companion (In‑Person, with Virtual Option)

We are seeking a friendly and creative volunteer to provide companionship to an older adult living in the Federal Way area. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys the arts and meaningful one‑to‑one connection.

About the Participant

• • Experiences memory impairment
  • Has a background in fine art and education
  • Former teacher who enjoyed staying active
  • Loves:
  • Coloring and painting
  • Photography and visual arts
  • Creative conversation and shared artistic activities

Volunteer Role

• • Visit in person to share time doing art‑based activities or casual conversation
  • Encourage creativity through coloring, painting, or photo‑related interests
  • Provide companionship and emotional support in a calm, respectful way
  • Virtual visits are an option if an in‑person match is not available

Volunteer Preferences

• • No gender preference
  • Patient, dependable, and comfortable with mild memory challenges
  • An interest in arts, creativity, or teaching is a great bonus (not required)
  • Flexible scheduling (weekly or bi‑weekly welcomed)
