Bring joy to seniors with your pet therapy animal!

Senior Friendship Centers is looking for licensed pet therapy animals of all types to visit our seniors at our Adult Day Services and Activity Center locations. In addition to bringing a smile and some fun to a senior’s day, interacting with a friendly pet can help many physical and mental issues, and is an important part of our programing for both independent seniors and those with cognitive and physical limitations. Help us bring this valuable tool to more seniors by having your therapy animal come visit!

We have Adult Day Services in two locations:

• Sarasota - 1820 Brother Geenen Way, Sarasota FL 34236
• Venice - 2350 Scenic Drive, Venice FL 34293

Schedule:

• Scheduling is flexible, Mon-Fri. We’ll arrange a mutually agreeable day and time. A monthly visit is ideal.

Requirements:

• Must love seniors and want to socialize with them. Positive, happy demeanor.
• Able to reliably commit to scheduled date and time.
• Licensed pet therapy animal and liability insurance.
• Comfortable interacting with individuals with neurocognitive impairments.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with seniors.
• Ability to interact professionally with all staff, clients, volunteers, and community partners.
• Must possess cultural awareness and sensitivity for all individuals and groups.
