America's Grow-a-Row is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and 425-acre farm that grows, gleans, and gives fresh produce to our neighbors in need through the efforts of thousands of volunteers each year. All produce is donated to hunger relief organizations like food banks and food pantries in NJ, PA, NY, and 25 other states!
A typical day of volunteering looks something like this:
8:45-9am: Arrival and check-in.
9-9:15am: We begin with a brief introduction and explanation of the task of the day
9:15-12pm: Volunteering in the fields to harvest a crop. We wrap up the event by telling you the total pounds of produce harvested, which is always exciting!
We have 2 Clinton area farms (Pittstown and Milford) only a few minutes apart, that we ask volunteers to go to depending on our farming needs on your scheduled date. Due to the unpredictable nature of farming, the weather, and where previous volunteer groups leave off in the fields, we won’t know the farm location or what you’re harvesting until about 3-5 days before the event. Then I will email you with the farm location. The addresses are:
