Volunteer with Hollywood PAL to help high school students get on the right track and make a different in their future.
Why: Hollywood PAL is committed to supporting low- income youth in the Hollywood Community. By volunteering, you become a beacon of hope and learning resource to these kids.
Who: Hollywood PAL drives positive change in the community we serve by partnering with LAPD and school-aged youth in programs that celebrate diversity, equity, and inclusion and inspire personal excellence, social awareness, and civic engagement.
What to Expect:
Provide one on one tutoring to students
Provide students with skills and key concepts to help solve and understand problems in a specific subject
Foster a proactive and positive learning environment for students
What's Required:
Commitment: Available to meet twice a week for one hour sessions
Subject Expertise: Proficient and confident in the subject you will be tutoring
Motivation: A genuine interest in helping students succeed academically and further their skills in the subject areas they are stuggling with
Communication Skills: Be able to explain concepts clearly and adapt an effective teaching style/plan to meet the needs of the student. Ability to communicate effectively with tutoring coordinator.
