    Description

    Organization: Mentor A Promise

    Function: Operations / Program Delivery

Scope: Program execution, cross-functional coordination, fundraising support, partner

    coordination, and organizational initiatives

    Role Summary

Leads complex, high-impact initiatives and drives strategic execution across multiple

workstreams, ensuring priorities, decisions, resources, and outcomes align with the

mission of Mentor A Promise and the communities it serves. This role provides structure,

leadership, escalation judgment, and operational discipline while partnering with

    leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead large-scale, high-visibility, or cross-functional initiatives across programs,

fundraising, marketing, operations, events, partnerships, and organizational

    priorities.

    • Own project strategy, intake frameworks, planning models, governance practices,

timelines, resource coordination, and execution approach for complex workstreams.

    • Translate organizational priorities into actionable plans with defined scope,

milestones, dependencies, deliverables, decision points, and success measures.

    • Drive alignment across leadership, internal teams, volunteers, partners, vendors,

and external stakeholders when priorities, responsibilities, or timelines compete.

    • Manage strategic tradeoffs across scope, timing, quality, capacity, and resources;

recommend decisions and escalate issues with clear options and implications.

    • Identify risks early, resolve blockers, manage dependencies, and implement

proactive solutions before quality or delivery is affected.

    • Establish and improve project management standards, documentation models,

operating rhythms, dashboards, reporting cadences, and workflow practices.

    • Facilitate leadership conversations, project reviews, decision meetings, and cross-

functional alignment sessions with clear agendas, outcomes, and follow-up.

    • Drive accountability for outcomes, not only process, by enforcing ownership,

timelines, decision clarity, and completion standards.

    • Mentor and guide project managers, coordinators, volunteers, or team members in

    organized, repeatable project management practices.

    • Oversee documentation quality, including project briefs, roadmaps, status reporting,

risk logs, decision logs, action registers, and version-controlled plans.

    • Ensure complex deliverables meet organizational objectives, stakeholder

expectations, quality standards, and mission-driven impact goals.

    • Model clear communication, strong follow-through, sound judgment, and a

collaborative, solutions-oriented working style across the organization.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
    • 6+ years of project management, operations, program delivery, or related

    experience.

    • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives with multiple

    stakeholders, dependencies, and competing priorities.

    • Strong leadership, decision-making, prioritization, problem-solving, and escalation

    management skills.

    • Excellent communication skills, including executive-level stakeholder management,

    facilitation, negotiation, and expectation-setting.

    • Advanced experience with project management tools, dashboards, structured

    workflows, and reporting systems.

    • Ability to build scalable systems, improve operating practices, and guide others in

    disciplined project execution.

    • Demonstrated commitment to mission-driven work and ability to align execution

with organizational values, community needs, and impact goals.

    Preferred

    • Experience in nonprofit, education, youth development, social impact, or

    community-serving organizations.

    • Experience implementing or scaling project management systems, operating

    rhythms, or cross-functional governance models.

    • Experience supporting fundraising strategy, events, program launches, partnerships,

    or public-facing organizational initiatives.

    • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, waterfall, or hybrid methodologies and the judgment

    to apply them appropriately.
