    Description

High School Tutoring and Mentoring in Cambridge Public School

Looking for a meaningful way to give back in Cambridge?

Join Cambridge School Volunteers (CSV) at Cambridge Rindge & Latin School (CRLS) to support students in grades 9-12 as a tutor, mentor, or classroom collaborator. Just 30–90 minutes a week can change a student’s future. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the school year (September–June), including:

Tutors: Work one-to-one with a student to build confidence and skills in a subject area, with a particular need for STEM support. Most tutoring takes place before school (8:00–8:30 a.m.) or after school (3:15–4:15 p.m.), with occasional opportunities during the school day (8:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.).

College/Career Mentors: Guide juniors and seniors through college essay writing, SAT preparation, scholarship selection and applications, and college/career planning. Program topics rotate throughout the school year, with weekly sessions held on Wednesdays from 3:15–4:15 p.m.

Classroom Collaborators: Work alongside teachers during the school day, supporting small groups and individual students in subjects that match your interests and experience.

No teaching experience needed—just patience, encouragement, and a commitment to helping students feel seen, supported, and successful.
