The Sunset Market is a lively weekly street market held every Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in Downtown Oceanside. Hosted by MainStreet Oceanside, the market spans several blocks along Pier View Way and surrounding streets, bringing together food vendors, local businesses, artisans, and live entertainment in a vibrant community setting.
Each week, thousands of residents and visitors gather to enjoy international street food, shop from local makers, and experience the energy of downtown after dark. The Sunset Market supports small businesses, creates economic opportunity for vendors, and helps activate downtown Oceanside as a welcoming destination for the community.
Volunteers play an important role in helping the event run smoothly by assisting staff, supporting visitors, and helping maintain a positive experience for everyone attending the market.
What will volunteers do?

The Sunset Market takes place outdoors across several blocks of Downtown Oceanside along Pier View Way and surrounding streets. Volunteers will check in with MainStreet Oceanside staff at the designated volunteer meeting point before their shift. Because the event is busy and takes place at night, volunteers should arrive a few minutes early and be prepared for a lively, crowded environment. Before starting your first shift, please stop by our office located at 701 Mission Ave so we can answer any questions and give you a brief orientation.
