    Description

    Ride Ambassador

Do you enjoy spending time with older adults? Do you know how to get around on public transportation, and like to share your knowledge with others?

Join our team of Ride Ambassadors! As a Ride Ambassador, you'll lead fun group trips on TriMet for older adults and people with disabilities. Trips usually originate at a local senior residence or senior center, and go wherever the group has decided they want to go! Past destinations include free concerts, movies in the park, events at the Portland Art Museum, urban wineries, lectures, Pioneer Courthouse Square, Lan Su Chinese Garden and more!

Prior to each trip, Ride Ambassadors are equipped with a trip plan and TriMet fare for the whole group. Not only are trips fun, but they give riders an opportunity to experience public transportation in a relaxed and non-threatening environment.

Trips are scheduled from a variety of senior centers & senior residences throughout Multnomah & Washington counties. Volunteers will get specific details for each opportunity.

Today and every day, Ride Connection provides transportation options to individuals in need. From older adults to people with disabilities to low-income individuals and underserved communities, we provide essential transportation such as door-to-door rides, community shuttles, and one-on-one public transit training. By giving people the means to get around, we offer independence, health, and inclusion.

Our service brings friends and family together, prevents social isolation, alleviates financial stress, and creates new connections that strengthen our community. Ride Ambassadors experience this mission on each trip as they guide people to places around town and make new friends along the way.
