Volunteer Income Tax Preparer (No Experience Required and Free IRS Training Provided)

Haven Services is looking for dedicated volunteers to join our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. Volunteers will be responsible for providing free tax preparation services to low- and moderate-income individuals and families.

No prior experience is required. Our team provides all of the training, IRS certification, and ongoing support at no-cost. As a VITA volunteer, you'll gain hands on tax preparation experience, strengthen professional skills, and make a meaningful impact in your community. It's also a wonderful opportunity to network with professionals in the business and financial sectors and explore career opportunities.

VITA Roles and Responsibilities Include:

Intake Specialist

• Client assistance with Intake Form
• Qualification screening
  • Client interview
• Identity verification
• Collect Tax forms

Tax Preparer

• Finalize Intake Process
• Create client tax profile
• Tax preparation
• Completing the tax return

Quality Reviewer

• Compare and revise taxpayer-provided information and supporting documents with the tax return entries
