Position Overview
We are seeking passionate, community-minded individuals to serve on our Board of Directors. Board Members play a critical role in guiding the organization’s mission, ensuring financial accountability, and supporting strategic growth.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to make a meaningful impact, contribute their expertise, and help build a growing nonprofit organization from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Governance: Provide oversight of the organization’s financial health, legal compliance, and strategic direction
- Fundraising: Contribute personally and leverage professional and community networks to secure donations, sponsorships, and partnerships
- Committees: Actively serve on at least one standing committee (e.g., Finance, Development, Governance, or Programs)
- Visibility: Attend and participate in at least one program visit annually
- Expansion: Introduce a minimum of three prospective donors, partners, or community advocates each year
- Serve as an ambassador for the organization and support community engagement efforts
Expectations & Commitment
- Term: Serve a two-year term, with the opportunity for renewal
- Meetings: Attend at least 75% of scheduled board meetings (quarterly meetings, 4 annually)
- Give/Get Commitment: Contribute or secure a minimum of $1,500 annually through personal giving and/or fundraising efforts
- Remain actively engaged between meetings and contribute to organizational initiatives
- Uphold confidentiality and act in the best interest of the organization
Preferred Qualifications
- Passion for community service, faith-based initiatives, or nonprofit work
- Experience in one or more of the following areas (preferred but not required):
- Finance / Accounting
- Legal / Compliance
- Fundraising / Development
- Marketing / Communications
- Social Services / Community Outreach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to commit time and actively engage in board responsibilities
- Previous board experience is a plus, but not required
