Editorial Mentor

OUR NATIONAL CONVERSATION (ONC) seeks to reduce partisanship and promote effective solutions to America’s challenges. Powered by America’s youth, we host a media outlet, produce educational materials and facilitate dialogue intended to make America a better country.

We have a group of editors reviewing writer articles each week. We're looking for an Editorial Mentor. Some of the duties will include the following:

• Share knowledge about the publishing industry, including trends, best practices, and the submission process.
• Offer guidance to mentees on improving their writing, editing, and critical thinking skills.
• Assist mentees in expanding their professional network by introducing them to industry contacts and resources.
• Organize or facilitate workshops that focus on various aspects of editorial work, such as grammar, style, or content strategy.

We currently have about 6 editors, with a few more possibly joining our group soon. Looking for someone with years of experience in the media/journalism industry, who has seen a lot of the ups and downs that come with editing. We're trying to take our team to the next level!

This is an unpaid, remote position.
