    Description

Volunteer at therapeutic horseback riding facility

HOLISTIC RIDING EQUESTRIAN THERAPY (HRET) is passionately committed to empowering the lives of individuals with varied physical, emotional, cognitive, and social abilities through the spirit of the horse! HRET offers a variety of skill appropriate classes meeting the needs of riders from preschoolers on our ponies to independent riders on our horses. We teach both mounted, unmounted, and farm experience classes.

We require volunteers to commit to a regular schedule of a minimum of four hours weekly. We need consistent volunteers who will act as side walkers (walking next to the rider at all times), horse leaders, helpers with daytime school groups/summer camps/field trips, and barn work. This is a rewarding experience for everyone involved. Please consider joining our organization, as the more volunteers we have, the more participants we can teach! You do NOT need experience with horses to volunteer! We will teach you everything you need to know!

We have afternoon/evening riding classes, as well as daytime school groups, field trips and summer camps which involve riding and also a "farm experience" curriculum. While most of our programming occurs on weekdays/weeknights, we have occasional weekend events & field trips. We also need barn work helpers 7 days a week, morning and afternoon.

We also need help with marketing, graphic design, fundraising, grant writing, event coordination, website design, property repair and maintenance, gardening/landscaping, legal services, barn chores, electrician/HVAC/plumbing, and much more. If you have talent to share and time to give, we can use your help!

Training is required to be PATH Intl. (Professional Assoc. of Therapeutic Horsemanship) compliant.

We generally having trainings monthly, which we provide free of charge! We offer additional horse leader and barn work/herd care trainings, to those who show an aptitude and interest.

PLEASE RSVP to hold your SPOT for the next training and get paperwork and information: hretvolunteer@gmail.com
