    Outcome School is a mission‑driven nonprofit empowering youth and adult learners with the skills needed to thrive in the modern tech workforce. Our Tech Skills track focuses on the essential soft skills that employers consistently look for — critical thinking, communication, collaboration, time management, problem‑solving, and stakeholder understanding. To expand this program, we’re seeking a passionate Tech Skills Volunteer to help design curriculum, create course materials, and mentor students as they prepare for real‑world tech roles.

    🌟 About the Role

    As a Tech Skills Instructor & Curriculum Developer, you will help students build the professional competencies required to succeed in tech environments. You’ll design beginner‑friendly curriculum, create slides and assignments, and mentor students as they practice communication, teamwork, decision‑making, and customer understanding. You’ll also collaborate with our development team to ensure the curriculum aligns with real industry expectations.

    This role is ideal for someone who loves teaching, coaching, and helping people grow into confident, job‑ready professionals.

    🛠️ What You’ll Do

    • Design and develop curriculum for our Tech Skills & Career Readiness program.
    • Create course materials, including slides, assignments, templates, and real‑world scenarios.
    • Teach or support live sessions with workshops, discussions, and hands‑on activities.
    • Mentor students as they practice soft skills essential for tech careers.
    • Introduce students to core professional competencies, including:
    • critical thinking & structured problem‑solving
    • time management & prioritization
    • communication & collaboration
    • decision‑making frameworks
    • understanding customers & stakeholders
    • working with cross‑functional teams
    • giving and receiving feedback
    • professionalism in remote and hybrid environments
    • Provide feedback on student assignments, presentations, and teamwork.
    • Collaborate with the development team to ensure curriculum quality and alignment with tech‑industry needs.
    • Support students during Demo Day, helping them present their projects and communicate their value clearly.

    🧠 What You Bring

    • Experience in tech, project management, product development, HR, or leadership.
    • Strong understanding of soft skills required in modern tech teams.
    • Ability to explain concepts in simple, engaging, and practical ways.
    • A passion for teaching, mentoring, and empowering youth.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • (Bonus) Experience creating curriculum, slides, or professional development workshops.
