    Description

    Volunteer Marketing Manager

    Mission

    Our mission is to help women and children heal from violent environments and achieve self-sufficiency through holistic support, including career development, housing, and financial assistance.

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a strategic, mission-driven Volunteer Marketing Manager to support and strengthen our organization’s marketing and outreach efforts. This role is ideal for a creative and organized individual who is passionate about nonprofit impact and wants to help amplify our message, increase community engagement, and expand our reach.

    The Volunteer Marketing Manager will assist in planning and executing marketing initiatives, supporting brand visibility, and collaborating on newsletter development and distribution to keep our supporters, donors, and community informed and engaged.

    Key Responsibilities

    Marketing Strategy & Brand Growth

    • Develop and implement CWA’s annual marketing plan aligned with fundraising and program goals
    • Ensure consistent brand voice, tone, and messaging across all channels
    • Strengthen CWA’s positioning as a trusted leader serving women in crisis
    • Manage marketing calendar including campaigns, awareness months, and events

    Campaign Planning & Promotion

    • Support marketing campaigns for programs, events, fundraising, and awareness initiatives
    • Work with leadership to plan promotional timelines and content themes
    • Help track campaign performance and suggest improvements based on engagement insights
    • Collaborate with Executive Director and PR team on:
      • Emergency funding campaigns
      • Holiday appeals
      • Major donor communications
      • Crowdfunding messaging
    • Develop clear calls-to-action for donors and supporters

    Content Development

    • Contribute to the creation of marketing content including flyers, social media captions, announcements, and promotional materials
    • Support storytelling efforts by highlighting impact stories, testimonials, and organizational milestones
    • Assist with reviewing and editing marketing copy for clarity, tone, and alignment with mission

    Newsletter Collaboration & Communications

    • Collaborate with the team on monthly or quarterly newsletter creation
    • Help gather updates, program highlights, and success stories for inclusion in newsletters
    • Assist with writing, editing, formatting, and preparing newsletter content
    • Support distribution through email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or similar)
    • Monitor engagement metrics such as open rates and click-through rates to help improve future communications

    Marketing Materials and Collateral

    • Oversee creation of:
      • Flyers and event promotion copy
      • Sponsorships decks
      • One-sheets
      • Donation wish lists
      • Annual report materials
    • Ensure all materials are visually aligned and professionally presented
    • Work with graphic designers and social media team as needed

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in marketing, communications, or nonprofit outreach (volunteer or professional)
    • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills
    • Familiarity with email marketing and digital marketing tools
    • Basic design skills (Canva, Adobe, or similar platforms) preferred
    • Ability to collaborate with a team and meet deadlines
    • Passion for nonprofit work and community impact

    Event Marketing Support

    • Develop event copy and scripts as needed
    • Create event messaging and promotional timelines
    • Support sponsorship outreach materials

    Work with the volunteer coordinator on event signage, printed materials, and marketing visuals
