    Description:

    We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Volunteer for the spring term to support the protection of our organization’s digital assets, systems, and data. This unpaid internship is ideal for students or early-career individuals pursuing experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or related fields who are eager to gain hands-on experience in a real-world environment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in monitoring and maintaining the organization’s IT security systems and protocols.
    • Support the identification and assessment of potential cybersecurity threats or vulnerabilities.
    • Help implement basic security measures, policies, and user access controls.
    • Contribute to incident response efforts, including documenting and analyzing security events.
    • Research and recommend best practices for data protection and system security.
    • Provide general support to the cybersecurity team on ongoing projects and initiatives.

    Qualifications:

    • Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or a related field.
    • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat detection, and risk mitigation.
    • Familiarity with security tools such as antivirus software, firewalls, or monitoring systems is a plus.
    • Strong willingness to learn, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
    • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
