    Description

    Board Member / Board of Directors

    Real Food CT is seeking experienced, mission-aligned individuals to join its Board of Directors during a pivotal period of organizational growth. This is an active governance role supporting a Connecticut-based nonprofit as it transitions from successful regional programming into long-term food system infrastructure and sustainability work.

    Board Responsibilities include:

    • Providing fiduciary oversight and governance

    • Supporting long-term strategic planning and organizational growth

    • Serving on committees aligned with expertise and organizational needs

    • Contributing to financial sustainability through fundraising, partnerships, or strategic guidance

    • Acting as ambassadors for Real Food CT within professional and community networks

    Ideal candidates bring experience in one or more of the following areas:

    • Executive or senior leadership within complex organizations

    • Prior nonprofit board service or governance experience

    • Financial strategy, capital planning, or oversight of large or growing budgets

    • Large-scale project development, infrastructure, or systems building

    • Philanthropy, fundraising, or mission-aligned investment

    • Food systems, agriculture, public health, or community development

    Board members should be comfortable engaging at a strategic level and contributing time, insight, and leadership during a critical growth phase.

    Time Commitment:

    Board service includes regular board meetings, participation in at least one committee, and ongoing engagement appropriate to a governance role. This position is unpaid and best suited for individuals motivated by mission, impact, and long-term community benefit.
