    Description

    Mentor a Child in Denton with Big Brothers Big Sisters!

    At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Tarrant County we believe it takes Little to be Big. Our mission is to create and support 1:1 mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Currently, there are over 100 children in Denton waiting for a mentor. With just a couple hours a month, you can positively transform a child's future.

    Littles in our program report

    • 90% improvement in family connectedness
    • 98% improved attitude towards risky behavior
    • and 97% are enrolled in university, employed, or enlisted within 1-year of high school graduation.

    In our Community-Based program, Bigs (mentors) and Littles (mentees) are matched based on similar interests, personalities, and backgrounds and spend time together out in the community doing things they both enjoy. Outings can be as simple as grabbing something to eat or as exciting as exploring a new hobby together! Matches typically see each other on evenings or weekends.

    Community-Based Expectations:

    • See your Little 2-4 times a month.
    • Be matched of at least 1 year.

    Applicants must be at least 18 y/o and have a valid driver's license and auto insurance.

    3. Complete criminal background and driving record checks.
    4. Complete online training
    5. Complete a virtual interview
