    Description

    Summer Camp Volunteers (18+)

Be part of a mission-driven camp community supporting kids with Type 1 diabetes. Summer volunteer opportunities available (18+).

    Description:

Type 1 United is seeking adult volunteers (18+)—with a strong need for medical volunteers—to support Camp Leo, a summer camp for children living with Type 1 diabetes.

Camp Leo creates a space where kids can simply be kids while building confidence, independence, and connection in a community that understands life with T1D. Volunteers play a key role in making that experience safe, supportive, and fun.

This is a meaningful opportunity to step into a mission-driven environment and make a direct impact in the lives of children and families in the Puget Sound community.

    • Medical Students / Healthcare Trainees
    • General Volunteers (18+) interested in working with youth or the T1D community

    Responsibilities:

    • Support daily diabetes management alongside camper care
    • Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging camp environment
    • Work collaboratively with an experienced medical and program team
    • Build positive relationships with campers and fellow volunteers

    What to Expect:

    • Hands-on, on-site camp experience (multi-day sessions)
    • Overnight camp setting in an outdoor environment
    • Strong team support and clear guidance throughout
    • A rewarding and impactful volunteer experience
