    Description

    College Student Hospice Companion Volunteers

Embracing HospiceCare is looking for college students who are interested in becoming Hospice Volunteers. You don’t need to be a medical student or have medical experience; all you need is a caring heart and a willingness to make a difference in the life of a terminally ill patient. Students will receive special training to serve as Patient Companions. As a Patient Companion, students will have the opportunity to read to patients, play chess or checkers, help to make a scrapbook or write letters – or simply provide a loving, calming presence to a patient in need. A Patient Companion’s duties depend on the patient’s unique needs and interests.

This is an excellent opportunity for students to explore career possibilities.
