Volunteer Team Leader - Farmer's Market

Do you want to build your leadership skills and help those we serve at WISEPlace gain access to fresh, healthy produce and improve their nutritional knowledge?

You can become a Volunteer Team Leader for our twice-monthly Farmer's Markets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays each month! This opportunity is 12 hours per month, and involves:

• Picking up fresh produce from Tanaka Farms in Irvine at 9:30am, as needed
• Greeting the produce delivery driver from South County Outreach onsite between 10:45am and 11:15am
• Greeting and leading other volunteers for the Farmer's Market
• Setting up for the Farmer's Market in our residents' community room (clean the tables, lay produce out to be "shopped," and take a before picture of the table
• Tracking resident attendance on a sign-in sheet
• Cleaning up after the Farmer's Markets (clean the tables, clean and put away any utensils used, and take an after picture of the table, and put excess produce away)
• Gathering all leftover produce after the Farmer's Market and put it in the fridge downstairs to be taken to other shelter locations
• MUST BE ABLE TO BE ABLE TO LIFT AND CARRY UP TO 25 LBS
